This article discusses how crowdsourcing the research activity of corporate credit professionals provides an early warning of business counterparty financial risk. It demonstrates how crowdsourcing makes it possible to leverage trade creditors, a vital group of risk managers who control access to a major source of a corporation’s working capital, and highlights the factors which allow for crowdsourcing to provide actionable guidance.
